Leadership

While candor is not always easy, our clients recognize that we advocate for their best interest, which builds trust and improves their willingness to take actions for business success.

Karen Compton, CPSM

Boldness and candor are major reasons Karen Compton’s clients turn to her for more than business guidance. They know she will tell them like it is, point them in the right direction, and remind them to “breathe and smile” through the tough times. Karen has an unflappable ability to solve complex problems with clarity and compassion, all the while remaining dedicated to the outcome.

As Principal of A3K Consulting, she oversees business operations. As project principal she leads strategic planning and project management efforts for the practice.

A national presenter and speaker and author on practice management issues, she was the co-host and producer of “Breaking the Silence of Design” to challenge convention and address the issues of justice, equity and inclusion in the built environment.

Nancy Levens, Assoc. AIA

With a 25-year focus on business development, marketing and strategy, Nancy has a depth of knowledge about the unique organizational systems of architecture, engineering and construction firms. As a consultant, she considers both the strategic and the tactical – from the big picture need for proactive planning, to the client management and other infrastructure necessary to conduct business day-to-day.

Nancy places high value on collaboration – her clients know what their best work consists of, and their areas of vulnerability. She works hand-in-hand with them to establish business and practice goals, as well as communication standards that convey their experience with consistency, clarity and authenticity.

Michael Sy

A trained-architect-turned-communications designer, Michael is a bit of a unicorn in the industry. His technical understanding paired with his creativity and high level of detail produces clean, compelling designs that capture each clients’ style, personality, and goals. Michael is intrigued by how humans interact with physical space and, like an architect, he strives to build virtual spaces that are intuitive and easy to navigate. The one piece of advice he frequently gives his clients is to simplify, simplify, simplify; a skill he has very adeptly mastered.
